Our wood crates are designed with great thought being put into the mode of transportation that you elect to ship your cargo. Airpack’s crating engineers leave nothing on the table…they give you viable solutions to move your product safely in transportation.
We build all boxes & crates using OSB, plywood and dimensional lumber depending on engineering and design specifications. All custom-built wood crates are based on individual client needs. We package and ship a diverse array of products ranging from sports cars and tank engines, to antiques and family heirlooms.
As an approved Department of Defense packaging organization, Airpack maintains an extensive Mil-Spec library that is current with all military specification packaging requirements (MIL-STD-129, MIL-STD-130 & MIL-STD-2073, just to name a few). We can build boxes and crates to all military / government specifications.
Our engineers can design and build re-useable crates. The designs can be simple with just screws for opening and closing or complex with hinges, ramps, doors, handles and latches. Crates can be foam-lined or the foam can be detailed cut to fix around the product being shipped.
Airpack engineers won 1st place in the Short-Life Package Design - 2008 NIPHLE Design Competition. Airpack’s 4-D Heavyweight Box was engineered and designed as a solution for shipping wet-spillable / non-spillable batteries as well as ammunition, weapons, dry batteries, lithium batteries, gas cylinders, any flammable solid material, aviation regulated solid aromatics, ammonium and nitrate fertilizers, chemical and first aid kits, solid toxic materials and solid pesticides, heavy metal powders and dusts. The approximate weight of any product inside the box must not exceed 180 kgs / 396 lbs net weight. The combined gross weight of product and box must not exceed 223 kgs / 491 lbs scale / gross weight.
