Hazardous Materials & Dangerous Goods Training
Training is mandated for all individuals involved in the transportation of hazardous materials in Title 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations (49CFR), Part 172, Subpart H.
Airpack, in partnership with John Gerrish & Associates, LLC (JGA), is dedicated to helping companies fulfill the above training requirements by offering comprehensive training in ground, air, vessel transportation and DoD regulations. Our courses are designed to give hazmat employees the skills necessary to prepare, offer, accept and transport hazardous materials in compliance with DOT’s regulations as well as international (IATA/IMO) and industry standards.
Primary focus is on DOT’s regulations (49CFR) in order to establish full compliance with the competent authority in the United States. Then we install and compliment all the required alternative regulations.
All classes are held in our multi-tiered college-style training center complete with state of the art teaching aids and students can use their laptops with our wireless internet capabilities. Students are taken on tours to see actual distressed shipments and witness why and how the shipments should be prepared correctly. Our teaching style is “real-world” – no lengthy lectures, reciting regulation after regulation. There is total class participation concluded by a written examination.
Student materials include a Study Guide inclusive of Work Projects, current edition of 49CFR and Emergency Response Guidebook (ERG). The alternative regulations, IATA / IMO / AFMAN 24-204, are used in the classroom and available for purchase should they be needed for the student’s library. This allows the student to use and apply the regulations while keeping training costs down.
Airpack provides all refreshments, continental breakfast, catered lunch and beverages for each day of class. Classes begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 4:30 p.m. each day.
In addition to regularly scheduled public classes, Airpack offers customized on-site training classes at your facility. These classes can be tailored to your organization’s needs, based on the type of product you handle and the mode/s of transportation you utilize. Our scheduling is flexible and can be designed around your production and staffing requirements.
