The answer is simple… We have over 60 years of combined expertise in the fields of hazardous materials and transportation. We are the only trainers in the area who also pack and ship dangerous goods. Our experienced packaging engineers can provide invaluable solutions to day-to-day issues that arise when handling hazardous materials and dangerous goods. Our Training Classroom is adjacent to our packaging warehouse where students are taken on a tour to experience and see actual distressed and frustrated cargo being processed. All of our students have Airpack staff support for as long as they need it - FREE. While participants leave our classes with a thorough understanding of the regulations, many need reassurance when it comes time to prepare an actual shipment. |

All of our trainers are “certified” training instructors. Our trainers specialize in providing you with “real world” scenarios. Airpack instructors have over a combined 60 years of experience in the transportation industry. A requirement of all instructors is to attend and successfully complete DOT and/or IATA “Train the Instructor” courses held and conducted by DOT and IATA respectfully. An additional Airpack requirement is to work no less than one year in our packaging warehouse physically preparing hazmat shipments for all modes of transportation. |

Hazardous Materials & Dangerous Goods The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) requires both initial and recurrent training for anyone who loads or unloads, handles, packs, and/or prepares documents for hazardous materials.Because of recent incidents involving hazardous materials in transportation, the DOT, along with the Federal Aviation Administration and others, have increased enforcement of training-related regulations, imposing severe fines for noncompliance. |

The objective of this training is to familiarize the student with Air Force Manual 24-204(I). Upon completion of this course the student will be able to: Navigate the Air Force Manual 24-204(I)

All classes, ground, air, or ocean, are offered as initial or recurrent training classes. Emphasis is placed on DOT’s 49CFR as it is the “law of the land”. The 49CFR is used by DOT and FAA enforcement when conducting audits. Knowing and understanding the U.S. regulations goes a long way in communicating compliance with these officials.
Recurrent Training covers the steps in summary needed to prepare and offer a shipment of hazmat to a carrier. Recent and proposed changes to regulations are discussed in detail. This class is designed for participants who ship hazmat on a regular basis and who are familiar and comfortable with the regulations. It is intended for an experienced audience.
All classes are held in our multi-tiered college-style Training Center, adjacent to our packaging warehouse where students are taken on a tour to see actual distressed shipments and witness how the shipments should be prepared correctly. Our teaching style is “real-world” – no lengthy lectures, reciting regulation after regulation. There is total class participation concluded by a written test.
Airpack provides all refreshments, a continental breakfast, catered lunch and beverages for each day of class. Classes begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 4:30 p.m. each day. |

Each state requires drivers of commercial transportation vehicles of a defining weight obtain a CDL (commercial drivers license). In addition to a CDL, the driver must have a hazmat endorsement if he carries hazardous materials and dangerous goods in transportation of a certain weight.
In addition to the state requirements, FAA and TSA are looking at those individuals who handle freight being offered into air transportation. They are requiring those individuals be trained in hazardous materials packaging, marking, labeling, documentation and procedures to take to ensure their load is delivered, securely and safely, to the air carriers.
